We AIME for Industry-Free CME

The Association for Independent Medical Education (AIME) is a national, nonprofit trade and advocacy group seeking to reduce pharmaceutical industry influence over medical education. It was started by Daniel J. Carlat, M.D., a psychiatrist and writer who owns and publishes The Carlat Psychiatry Report, a monthly CME newsletter that does not accept industry support. Since Dr. Carlat makes money from his newsletter, he has a financial, as well as an ideological stake in the success of AIME. We all have our conflicts--the key is transparency!
